  • Definition of science
Science is defined as a branch of study or knowledge in which body of facts and truths are arranged clearly to show the operation of "general laws."

  • Definition of technology
Technology is the branch of knowledge that provides us with innovations to solve problems. In certain circumstances we may not be aware of a problem until the technology has already been invented to solve it. It can be a process, method or invention.

  • How they affect our lives
Based on the two definitions of the terms we know that science can be considered "general laws" of what already exists and that technology is what we can form to exist; all to the end of bettering one's life.

There are a myriad of ways that science and technology affect our life. For example in medicine science and technology have made it easier for doctors to examine the human body to diagnose disease, illness or other problems. Upon diagnosing an issue the doctor is better equipped through that same science and technology to provide a solution.

Over the past two hundred years science and technology in medicine have increased the life expectancy of humans thus truly affecting our lives.

  • Computers
Computers are another way that science and technology have affected our lives and some of it is not so positive. For example, with the creation of technology in computers we no longer need to use handwriting to get our thoughts expressed. Instead, we type it up and send it.

Some countries such as the US are even talking about cutting out cursive handwriting from the curriculum because there are those who believe it is unnecessary.

Computers have also managed to provide us with better and quicker communication as well as an easier way to express ideas around the world. It has worked in a way to bring cultures together, and cultures are a part of the science of study and knowledge.

Science has offered many gifts to mankind. Like electricity. What would we do if there's no electricity? If there's no electricity, the survival of the modern man would be jeopardized.

Science and technology has become such a part of our life that we take it for granted. The civilization is growing more and more dependent on them. And so is human existence. We've gone too far. And we've to drag on and on. There seems to be no turning point.

Science and technology have a great role to play in improving and influencing people's lives. People are now able to live comfortable lives thanks to science and technology. They are able to protect themselves from cold and hot weathers. Are able to travel comfortably and fastly from one part of the world to another. Are able to communicate with their loved ones via different modes of real time communication like telephones and internet. It has helped in increasing the life span of people. It has also helped in decreasing the mortality rate of babies. It has helped people in living a long and healthy and comfortable life.

Today's world is full of pieces of technology that we take for granted, the microchip has truly revolutionised the way in which we live and do business. The world we see would not be recognisable to people of a few generations ago and nowhere is this truism greater than in the world of computing

It makes things easier for people because they can go on the computer to find information and they can use the stove to cook food and things like that.

There is so much science and technology. The industrial revolution that we think of in historic terms, introducing  modern power driven machinery, began the ball rolling and it has been rolling increasingly faster ever since the 19th century. I am a 'baby boomer', spawn of World War 2 and the Korean War Veterans. We were the first to grow up with T.V. This had a huge impact on world awareness, and taught us to think of ourselves as a Global Community. I remember when we thought of computers, they were scientific marvels that took up huge rooms. Now people have them in their hands and carry them around. The invention of the P.C., I saw the Cell Phone, which was pure Science fiction in our time, become standard equipment for nearly everyone in the advanced countries. I questioned microwave ovens, as an impossibility, that you could 'cook food' invisibly on a paper plate? Sure many things are easier, not simpler. Life runs on a super fast track, and I think that brings with it a lot of stress. There are both advantages and disadvantages. It is sometimes difficult to keep up with all that is new in our lives.

Many ways that technology affects our daily activity in our lives;like for example people become lazy because of technology, but then our works move faster and easier.
We can save time and effort through useful technology that science made.

Besides making our lives better in terms of health, longevity and things like that, science and technology have other important roles to play.  Just as important to me, is the richness that new gadgets or knowledge can provide to your life. Science and tech naturally hold a special place in my heart since my passion is fast cars. For example, some of the coolest new tech  to come about as a result of science is GPS, think of how impact full having access to GPS data is when you are mobile....

Yes, it does improve the life span of people and make everyone more comfortable.
But like you look at all of the new products and technology out today and they are
all about convenience. They are here to make everything "comfortable". Like you can
order groceries online and have them delivered to your front door in hours, and how you
can shop for clothes online and how you can pay your bills online. Technology is in your home and you don't even have to leave your house to go to the store or the bank. Everything is electronically. But that stuff has made america more lazy. People need to get out and take a walk, breathe the air before everything is all gone. Instead, they walk on treadmills, breathe purified air or exercise with wii fit. Don't get me wrong, but I am also a fan about these products. But we just need to get up and do stuff old school. I am a very opinionated person about these things.
