When an endoplasmic reticulum is seen under a electron microscope.we see two types of ER one is smooth and other is rough.The rough ER is due to the presence of ribosomes,which are the protein producing enzymes.Rough ER produces mainly secretory protein which may secrete in particular organelles like lysosome or out ot the cell .
