According to sir James Jeans, when the millions of years ago a star,by chance, came near the sun,it raised huge tides on the surface of the sun and formed a big mountain.as the star came nearer the sun,the mountain on the surface of the rose higher and higher.when the star began to move away from the sun,its tidal pull became so power that the mountain was torn to pieces.these pieces fell off in the space.these pieces are called plants.like the other plants our earth also came into being by the breaking up of the mountain formed on the surface of the sun.

"The Dying Sun" is a scientific essay written by Sir James Jeans. In this essay he throws light on the theory of origin of our earth, its position in the universe and origin of life on it.
Formation of the Earth:

There are many theories about the origin of Earth. The most accepted one is that earth was a part of the sun. Scientists believe that, some two thousand million years ago, a star happened to come near the sun. It was a very rare event. In the same way, as the moon causes tides in the oceans, the star caused tides on the burning surface of the sun. One such tide gave rise to the formation of a mountain. When the star moved away, this mountain of molten matter shattered into pieces. These pieces fell into the space and began to move round the sun. One of these pieces is our earth. It cooled down gradually and gave birth to life.

Our earth is very small when compared with extreme stretches of space. There are countless stars in the space. Most of them are so large that thousands of earths can be packed up inside each star. The total number of stars in this strange universe is probably something like the total number of grains of sand on all the sea shores of

According to the sir james jeans, a few stars travel in the form of group but many stars travel alone in the universe.they have a geat distance between them. They move their own orbitals. A very few chance a star come near the other star. Two thousand milian years ago, a star is traveling very closly to the sun and collided the sun.the sun divided into many parts. Some parts was little but many parts was bigger. These parts started move around the sun.these parts called planets.our earth is one of them .                                                                                                                               These plants have great distance between them. Plants are moving alround the sun in temperature belt. Outside of the temperature belt life is so coold and anyone will go then they will be frozen since then.inside of the temperature belt life is so hot.anyone will be burnt there if they went.only in earth life is possible because life exist those places where the temperature will be same and things can exist in liquid state.                                                                                                                               The temperature have normal temperature.the earth is so smallest part of the universe.the system of universe is so bigger.anybody cannot imagine.the radiation of sun reaches earth which makes the life possible on the earth.                                                                                                                               My name is waseem and I am the student of punjab college...
