Get off the computer walk out the door and start nocking on doors and put up flyers asking for scrap metal you will be able to gather quite a bit its a little embarasing but the pay off in the end is nice I do this every day and have people calling me all the time and have paid for my house my truck and the food in my stomach I have only been doing it for two years and am only 19 and have no house payment or truck payment because I walked from house to house asking for scrap just a tip if you carry a rake and rake up after you pick up the metal it will look like you actualy cleaned the place up and makes the people happy and they will tell there friends about you and thats how it all starts is by word of mouth d

I live in Tacoma Washington, I see ads posted on telephone poles all over town for free metal pickup. They have to have had a few people call giving them stuff like appliances, swing-sets, car parts or cars and motors and lawn tractors etc. Anything of metal value really must have either a lot of weight or contain no iron (no magnet will stick to non ferris metals such as brass, copper, aluminum, stainless and such

Scrap metal may sound like something worthless but is in fact big business. It is composed of old, unwanted and waste metal. The recycling however of scrap metal is in fact a thriving industry. There is even a proverb that goes "one man's trash is another man's treasure." It may prove very difficult to find free scrap metal but cheap or nominally priced scrap may be available at scrap yards. These yards usually buy scrap to recycle it. In certain cases and countries scrap is even exported to other countries for reprocessing. Since the metal may have come from factories and other industries it may contain harmful substances as well.

Try finding addresses of scrap yards in and around your area, the municipal waste collectors may even inform you of how and where they dispose of metal waste.

Each scrap metal type has a different price associated with it. The price for scrap copper is different for scrap steel. For scrap metal prices for all metals, whethere ferrous or non ferrous (copper, brass, aluminum, HMS, steel, etc.) go to the website Scrap Metal Prices and Auctions which provides updated pricing information on all types of metals.
