Lyda Newman childhood was very miserable . She didnt have much tooh live for . She was born on September 11 . She grew up in Manhatten . She didnt have an education because back then she was born into slavery . She later escaped slavery and innovated the hair brush .

Lyda Newman was a great African American women that hated slavery so she did something good to let us remember her.
