Newark also known as Newark-on-Trent is a small market located in Nottinghamshire. It is positioned in the East Midland region of England and is placed on River Trent.

Newark is sited at the junction of the Great North Road and Fosselway, it flourished around the Newark Castle which at present is completely ruined. According to the census conducted in the year 2001, the total population of this region is around 25,376. Initially Newark was the base for the wool and cloth trade, it later developed to some extent during the Victorian era.

Newark was also one of the key towns which fought for the Royalist cause all through the Civil War and it surrendered only on the orders of Charles I himself. The clothing, bearing, pumps, agricultural machineries, etc have been the key industries in the past 100 years.
