If someone is having demyelination of white matter then most probably, he/she is suffering from MS (Multiple Sclerosis). MS is an autoimmune disorder in which myelin sheath of the neurons is lost. There are some studies which suggest that MS is inherited and other suggest that it is a result of an viral infection. Exact etiology of the MS is not know. MS has no permanent cure. Only symptoms can be managed and disability can be delayed.
