There are 10 cm in a dm.  Convert the length to dm (2.5) and multiply the length, height and depth to obtain cubic decimeters.  Convert the height and depth into cm and multiply the length, height and depth in cm to obtain cubic centimeters.  Since 10x10x10 = 1000, there will be 1000 times more cubic centimeters than cubic decimeters.
