Average is defined as the sum of all data values, divided the by number of data values. For example, let's say you're trying to find the average pulse of a person. You measure the person's pulse 3 times and you find their pulses are:48, 46, and 89.To find the average pulse, you would add up all 3 pulses (48 + 46 + 89), and divide over the total number of times you took their pulse.(48+46+89)/3 = 61.The person's average pulse would be 61.
