The joining of the two reproductive cells from the two parents is called as sexual reproduction. Egg and sperm are formed as a result of meiosis ,a process that involve crossing over i.e exchange of chromatids. Moreover some chromosomes are selected to go into one gamete i.e it is randomly assorted.when a new organism is formed it contain from both parents.so new born is different from parents. www.tiscali.co.uk
