Here's a step-by-step guide to the candle power science experiment.
You'll need:
2 thick candles
2 nails
2 leads with alligator clips
A magnet
Step 1
Stick a nail into each of the candles, about halfway down. Don't let them come out the other side.
Step 2
Take the magnet and rub it against the surface of each of the nails to magnetise them.
Step 3
Use the alligator clips to attach one lead to one candle, and the other lead to the other candle so that both leads have a free alligator clip.
Step 4
Now you can power something small that uses batteries like a bulb from a torch. Simply attach the bulb to each of the spare end alligator clips and light your candles.
