Cyanobacteria are also considered as blue green algae and they play an important role in the ecosystem. Firstly, they reduce the erosion in the soil and maintain a high content of water. Secondly, they can be used in various foods and medicinal products like vitamins, growth factors and drug compounds. Thirdly, cyanobacteria are capable to evolve Oxygen in photosynthesis and hydrogen by nitrogenous catalyzed electron transfer. In addition, cyanobacteria also help in the manipulation of nitrogen fixation, thereby playing an important role in economy.
