Did Antarctica ever have a human civilization?

Not unless you count the various scientific communities who work there. A couple of years ago I actually played a few chess games (via the Internet) with a scientist working there.

I used to work for Social Security. I had a guy call in that was working there. He was maintaining a small to lane bowling alley there. It was for the scientist down time.

Modern communications make it possible for them to stay in touch, Gator. A couple of my workmates spent a year down there operating their communications room -- a job no longer necessary -- so I got to hear a few stories. That was back in the 1950s and 60s. No bowling alley in those days.

One time on the Big Bang theory show it did ....then they all grew beards ... Then they went home and shaved their beards. I'm a scientist and I know allots of stuff about stuff.
