There is an old adage, "With age comes wisdom." That wisdom comes from learning from our mistakes. (Or watching others make mistakes.) the very young learn mostly through touch. They learn hot and cold, hard and soft, etc.. As we grow up, we learn language skills. This allows for exchange of information. Then we get to the point of deciphering and processing more information. We apply previous learned information to new situations.
