A sperm cell is the germ cell and its function is to carry the males genes to the female's egg for fertilization. Sperms contain the genes of male to make contribution to the DNA-make-up of the offspring. Sperm cells are formed by the Genetic male reproductive organ of the male and these cells have 'n' number of chromosomes. Sperm cells give these chromosomes to the offspring while other half set comes from egg of female. Therefore, a sperm cell plays a very important role in the reproduction process.
