The city of Burkina Faso is located to the north of Ghana whereas Togo is located to the west. The Atlantic Ocean is to the south of Ghana whereas the city of Cote d'lvoire is to the north of Ghana. The longitude of Ghana is 5°33′0″ north and latitude of Ghana is 0° 15′ 0″ west. As recorded in the 2005 census, the population was 21 million.
Historically, it is the first black country in Africa to gain independence from colonial rule. The national anthem of the Republic of Ghana is "God Bless Our Homeland Ghana".
