There are various negative effects of group work as compared to the individual work. The major disadvantage is that group work shows the collective efforts of the group members therefore, it may hide the talent or efforts of one member. Secondly, it can create conflicts among the members on various issues like distribution of the work. Thirdly, free riders are commonly found in the group work and it becomes difficult to catch the free riders from a group. Fourthly, group work may not give the desired appreciation to each member of the group thereby, demotivating the members.
