You have to convert feet to inches to use this formula.
This is how you get the capacity of a cylindrical tank.

The volume of the pipe is
v = (Pi/4)(1/2 in)2(200 ft*12 in/ft) = Pi(200*12/16) in3 = 150Pi in3
  = (150Pi in3)((1 gal)/(231 in3)) = (150/231)Pi gal ≈ 2.04 gal
