It is gravity that keeps the moon in orbit around the earth. Also, the earth and all the other planets are kept in place by the force of gravity.

The Earth's gravity keeps the moon in orbit, and the moon's gravity causes the tides here on Earth. We are also tidally locked together which is why the moon only ever presents one side of it's surface to us.
