The understory layer in a rainforest is filled with a large variety of unique animals. A definite number cannot be given. However, the location of the rainforest also contributes to the species of animals and also plants which are found in the rainforest. For example, a tropical rainforest animal would be accustomed to the climate of the tropics. However you must state what kind of animal e.g, insects, birds or mammals. Some of the animals include blue-tailed iguana, boa constrictor, coatimundi, fruit bat, green tree boa, leaf cutter ants, margay tree frog, kinkajou, spider monkey and the heliconia butterfly.

These animals would share a certain common characteristic. The characteristic include having bright colored markings, making loud vocal sounds, sharp patterns and diets are heavy on fruits.

Hope this has expanded your knowledge on the rainforest.
