Italy's exports are generally higher end than most country's due to the quality of the brands that the country produces. For example, the country will export a good deal of fashion items due to the reputations of such brands as Armani and Versace. The same can be said about the production and export of their cars as Italy produces cars such as:
  • Bugatti
  • Ferrari
  • Lamborghini
  • Alfa Romeo
Many of the cars that are produced under these brands are very sought after and therefore another big export from Italy to countries such as Canada would be cars.

Another major industry that Italy exports to Canada is food and drink. Italy is famous for its good food, such as pasta, olives (and particularly olive oil) and pizza, and its good wines and beers. Many of these products are bought and sold into the Canadian market, hence Italy exporting many of these goods to Canada.

The growth in the import of wine into Canada from countries such as Italy has been large in the last five years, and continues to grow to the point where it is now one of the biggest imports into Canada from Italy.

By far the largest export from Italy into Canada is machinery and engineering equipment. Italy produces and manufactures a large quantity of machinery and engineering equipment every year and this product is Italy's largest export. Particular items within this industry have been unusually large in terms of import from Italy to Canada.

These items include taps and valves for taps and liquid pumps. It is fair to say that with the exception of perhaps olives, Italy's exports to Canada are predominantly man made products for use within the manufacturing industry or items for the food industry.

Another interesting fact is that one of the largest exports from Canada to Italy is cereal.
