Camp Kalsu, also known as Forward Operating Base (FOB) Kalsu, is located in Iskandariya, a city in central Iraq.

Camp Kalsu is a U.S. Military installation established in May 2003 and is based 20 miles south of Baghdad. The military camp is named in honor of First Lieutenant James Robert Kalsu, an All-American football player for Buffalo Bills and Oklahoma University, who was killed whilst serving in Vietnam in 1970.

FOB Kalsu is based at the start of the Sunni Triangle, an area where there is a strong support for Saddam Hussein and his regime and is therefore in the ideal position to respond to immediate emergency calls, provide rapid aid for convoys under attack, provide a secure MSR for troop movement and to conduct operations against enemy activities.

The area where FOB Kalsu is based consists of a large population of Sunni Muslims who mostly live in slums. Although it is a smaller base compared to other FOBs in Iraq, troops are still able to communicate with family and friends using the onsite internet and phone. Camp Kalsu is known to be very dusty with soldiers living and working in large reinforced tents that are protected by blast walls. A marketplace, run by Iraqis, is available for soldiers to purchase anything from knives to electronics to musical instruments.
