Look, 3 pounds of iron weighs exactly the same as 3 pounds of cork, but you'll get a lot more cork in that 3 pounds than you will of iron. Cork is very lightweight, it floats in water unless it becomes waterlogged. Iron does not. Iron IS heavier than cork, so I guess it necessarily would be too.
