Dryers are fairly simple to dismantle. Begin with the door, then remove the front panels from the side. However much you dismantle just study how it goes back together as you remove it so you can reassemble it.

The smell is from the gasket, not the outer tub, so I would just wipe out the gasket with bleach on an as needed basis. You can start here if you still want to try disassembly:
