Explain Urban Growth Trends In The World's Poorest Countries. What Causes Urbanization In Poor Countries
People usually move to urban areas because they need to earn a living, or they need food, or some other basic necessity. In the U.S., much of the country was rural until the the end of the 1800s, beginning of 1900s (but check my dates) and it was because there began to be jobs and people could make more money than just by farming. Just look what is going on right now in China. The cities have exploded with growth because a rural person can make a lifetime of money in half a dozen years.
