For:
- many people enjoy going to the zoo and it can be educational
to many people who go but I do think that the animals are well looked after
- There are zoos in which take care rescued animals that were in dangerous conditions or hurted.
- They also give home to almost extinct species
- If the animals were out in their natural habitat, there chances of living longer are shorten by lack of food, lack of medicine or lack of shelter.
- Get the chance to study the animals living patterns such as eating habits hunting habits and breeding rituals

Against:
- Animals do need space but I suppose it doesn't compete to being in there natural environment
-They take animals out of their natural habitats and put them in fake ones, which I think is bad because then they don't know how to live on their own
-Some zoos are treating the animals badly
- I think is cruel to have animals locked up in cages and trained to do tricks to entertain people.
- most animals are uncomfortable or scared to be around humans

Conclusion: I think that they should just put the animals who need healing in zoos.
This are my points of view for debate in my school.

I think zoos do the most cruel thing to animals the animals should be on their natural habitat unless they pose a serious danger to us human beings while out, I don't think that us humans will feel good being locked up in cages and some trained to do silly tricks.
That's not fair so I think zoos do more harm than good.

I think zoos have many disadvantages.  In this text I will tell you reasons why.
In most zoos, a lot of endangered species are kept out of their natural habitat.  For example, if a polar bear is in Antarctica, its fur keeps it warm, but when it's in Londonn for instance, on a really warm day, it will dehydrate.  My first point is that they should be placed in their favoured habitat.  Would you like to be trapped away from home?
My second reason is, when an animal is away from its family, eating the wrong food, it could become stressed.  If a chipmunk was trapped, behind glass with a large majority of people (humans) staring daily at it, obviously it will start running tree-to-tree looking rabid! No one wants that, it's appalling!
My final reason is most animals are captive in small areas.  This usually causes them to roam around aimlessly.  Animals could get bored or claustraphobic.  I wouldn't like it in a crammed space.
All in all, zoos are bad places.  They can sadden animals and unfortunately make them ill.  My final question is, how would you like it?

I think zoos do more good than harm. If the animals were out in their natural habitat, there chances of living longer are shorten by lack of food, lack of medicine or lack of shelter. Even though it seems inhumane to keeping an animal in a cage, they do leave longer and zoos also makes wonderful entertainment.

While it's sad that the animals are not in their natural habitat, zoos do allow people to see and learn about animals they would not otherwise have the opportunity to have close encounters with.
Zoos also provide the opportunity for breeding programsto take place to help save animals on the endangered species list.

I think there are reasons to both sides I can agree with what you are saying about the animals being in there real home and it would be better for them but I'm sure that zoo's do look after the animals and animals do need space but I suppose it doesn't compete to being in there natural environment also many people enjoy going to the zoo and it can be educational to many people who go but I do think that the animals are well looked after but if you do find that a certain zoo is treating the animals badly then maybe you are right and should do something about it

Animals should be able to live within their own natural world with their parents and not in a confined area.

Animals are forced to live in small enclosures. I think that I would never even consider living in a small enclosure. Would you prefer live in your natural habitat or in a small enclosure not to mention separated from your relatives? I certainly wouldn’t.

As explained the meaning of the word ZOO is based on pure entertainment (stunts) and research for man-kind. This in its self proves that zoos are not a positive place for the animals and their main purpose is for humans alone

This is my speech for school.

That's a good question they really even out to be equal. They take animals out of their natural habitats and put them in fake ones, which I think is bad because then they don't know how to live on their own. But the one really good thing they do is give homes to animals that are almost extinct, that can only live in ZOOs!

I think zoos are doing more harm than good, because they're keeping them in a enclosed area and the poor animals stay locked up 24-7. They shouldn't have a right to do this. I don't think it's right and neither do wildlife experts.

I am doing a debate for my school and I think zoos are good because if we didn't have zoos do you know how many animals would be dead right now I know I know its not right to be locked up in a cage but if they are in a cage at the zoo it is safer for them there and they have a better chance of living longer also they give them enough food and water so they can live so you zoos are like really good I hate cats and chickens!!!lol

Zoos are not good for the animals. Some claim that its educational for children to see how the animals act but its not educational if the animals don't behave right because their not in there natural environment. It's also cruel for the zoos to FORCE animals to do tricks and stunts. All the animals have to sit in their cages or Fake environments and be taunted and have stuff thrown at them. Have obnoxious kids make wierd faces at them and make fun of them... It's not right. Zoos do more harm....

I don't think they do more harm than good because they need to be able to go out and do their own thing what they do for them selfs.

I think  zoos are good and bad because zoos keep animals locked up in cages which doesnt give them much space at all. Also most animals are uncomfortable or scared to be around humans, so I'm sure thats what the animals feel like. I think they shouldnt take the animals out of there habitat and train them because they probably act way different from how they would in there habitat. Also the surroundings are very different. The good part is they give them food and water, also they make sure they are some what entertained. I think that they should just put the animals who need healing in zoos.

I think that zoos do more harm than good. THE ANIMALS ARE FORCED TO DO THINGS not asked but FORCED. I think is so unfair, anyway animals have much more space in the wild as in the zoo there is a limit. Animals must learn to prey and catch their own food and act as anyother animal would do!!!!!! What happens if they let the animal out the aninmal is not used to the wild and will die. I think zoos do more HARM because of this reason. SAVE THE ANIMALS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
