Is it only when they are being copied, or during mitosis, only during the G1 phase, or Chromosomes are always visible.
If you are talking about the whole overall cell cycle rather than DNA replication, then the chromosomes will be visible during the DNA synthesis stage.
During the cell cycle it is in the metaphase that chromosomes are visible!!
