I've never done this before, but after reading this response for some reason I was infuriated and had to respond. I am currently a high school student, and while researching the negative effects of electricity, this was one of the top three links that came up on google. With my minimal knowledge on this topic, I already know you are completely wrong, both grammatically as well as in your content. The making of electricity has huge effects, MANY of which are considered pollutants. Electricity causes pollutants to be produced, and people who waste this energy source, and are ignorant to the subject that is ridiculous. For example, a study done in 1998 showed using electricity produced 40.5% of the carbon dioxide released into the atmosphere. CO2 is a HUGE pollutant that causes global warming and other issues. Also, at the big generators where electricity is produced FROM steam that is make by burning fossil fuels, a nonrenewable resource (and other ways) there are huge environmental effects. Like to begin with, burning fossil fuels. Burning coal causes harmful pollutants to entire the atmosphere, and can also cause acid rain when mixed with water vapor in the atmosphere. There are many more consequences, and much of the energy it makes goes to waste as heat energy anyways.
So before posting something that you have qualifications to post, like an actual knowledge on a subject, just release that you are giving out potentially wrong information, and you never know who's going to read and believe you.
If you don't believe me, just check out this report from the EIA, a credible resource...www.eia.doe.gov/electricity/page/co2_report/co2report.html
