Width = x, length = x+5, perimeter = 50

solution:
  P = 2L + 2W
  50 = 2(x+5) + 2x
  50 = 2x + 10 + 2x
  50 = 4x + 10
  50 - 10 = 4x - 10
  40 = 4x
  40 / 4 = 4x / 4
  10 = x

width = x
  =10

length = x+5
  = 10+5
  = 15

P = 2l + 2w ; l = w + 5
50 = 2(w + 5) + 2w
50 = 2w +10 + 2w
50 = 4w +10
40 = 4w
10 = w
l = w + 5
l = 10 + 5 = 15

Length 15 feet, width 10 feet, perimeter 50 feet. The perimeter is equal to twice the length plus twice the width.
