One advantage of graphical representation of data is that it is much neater and more organized than just having a bunch of figures thrown around. Also, engineers, scientists, including myself try to incorporate graphs wherever possible as it is a professional way of working with figures.
A disadvantage is that it could not give a precise amount where as a numbers give a precise amount.
