Does L arginine and citrulline really clear the plaque from arteries?

Citrulline is derived from arginine, so I would not think so as these amino acids are quite common enough in the bodies of mammals. Citrulline does have something to do with ameliorating muscle fatigue, I think.

The ' L ' means levo, left handed amino acids which is all that are used in living organisms.
