My eyes change with my mood, since I noticed that they're dark brown when I'm tired, amber when I'm mad, a sort of reddish-brown when I'm happy, and blue/gray-hazel when I'm sad. They can shift color separately. Meaning one with be amber-ish and the other will be dark. What's the cause of this?

Mine do that - it annoys me cause any1 who knows me knows what I'm thinkin/feelin all the time. There dark blue wiv gold flecks normally but when I'm excited or just really happy they go a really really bright blue. And when I'm annoyed they go a dark goldy/browny colour - sometimes almost black

Your eyes seem to change color, depending on a lot of factors. Time of day, clothes your wearing (this makes the most sense to me – as certain colors are highlighted, or noticed), but they also change color depending on what mood your in! This happens to a lot of people.

This is caused by genes, genes are just recipes for proteins in eye color to change the final amount of pigment in your eye. When eye color genes are on, proteins that make and degrade eye color pigment are made. The amount of pigment in your eye is determined by how good these proteins are at their job and how many of these proteins are doing their jobs.

The bottom line is that eye color is the result of a constant process of pigment creation and destruction. I hope this helped!
