Yes; my grandmother used to cook them with potatoes and sausage!! Very good...during the Depression of the 1930's, my mom said that many people ate them, right from their yard.....they'd soak them in a vinegar & water solution to 'sanitize', then eat in a salad or cook them...when you don't have much, you make do with what you have! And now, with the economy the way it is, we're all learning how to make do with less!! It's the kick in the butt our society needs, after all the living beyond one's means!But I digress!

Yes and they are very bitter!!!!! My grandfather use to love them!!! So i would sit out in the yard for hours digging them up for him as a treat!!!!
