No i don't spend it anywhere else.....if I could I would research the perfect place year round temperature of 60-68 degrees  rain every once in a while to keep me and the plants alive and it would have to be a wooded area with a constant breeze of around 15-30 mph. Slightly overcast......anyway I have described all this before in another question....later :)

San Diego, CA came very close to that, but the cost of living out there was horrendous.

If I had a choice I would spend the different seasons in cold places I'm sick of the sun at the moment, its hot during the day and also at night,I wouldn't want to spend it in the states I'd like to go overseas or maybe just cross into Canada, then head for Alaska, then I'd probably want to come back home to thaw out.

From the mid-west, I spent one summer several years ago in upper Michigan, and it was beautiful -- cool most of the time, but not cold.

I live at the coast so winter I love to be at home because then it is not so extremely hot but its still 25 to 26 C so we never wear winter cloths.  I always see that I'm never at home in our summer.  That is normally my time to travel overseas or any other place in the country where it is not so hot.  It gets 36 to 40 C and more with humidity.  If we measure the temperature of the water in the pool at night in summer then it measures 33 to 35 C.  So you never cool of.  If I lived in a place where it get very cold in the winter then I will see that I'm not there in winter time.

Keeping to a warmer climate in winter, then a cooler climate in summer is the best way to go!

If I had a choice, I would spend the whole year someplace warm rather than being stuck in Minnesota.  We had a long, miserable, and frigid winter last year, and this past summer wasn't enough to make up for the cold winter.

I'm with you -- I dislike frigid weather, and since retiring, I would spend most of the winter inside when I could. Florida wasn't hot after October, but it was like spring in the north. August/Sept is hotter than the devil down there sometimes -- another extreme that I can't tolerate. Weather-picky -- that's me!
