Leaded petrol is very toxic . After it's combustion takes place in vehicles, oxides of lead ( PbO , pbO2) are released in the atmosphere . They effect brain development in children. It is fatal at high concentrations . Lead compounds also cause forest decline .
For this reason usage of unleaded petrol is encouraged in Delhi ( or any other city in the world ) as it is an air contaminant and is harmful to us .
