I plan on taking a course on Forensic Science next year and I'm worried about the amount of chemistry it will contain. I know a few basics due to previous introductions to chemistry courses. Will the basics be enough, or will I need to know more?

Does the course mention any prerequisites, or a level of competency in chemistry? Also what level is this course being offered at? Is it part of a college program for example?

Usually any requirements in order to complete a course will be clearly stated in the prospectus.

There's no harm checking with the course leader though.

I imagine forensic science requires some chemistry or biology. I checked a few university courses, and all mention these two subjects.

The prerequisites state at least two years of high school science including Biology and Chemistry, or equivalent. I'm good with Biology (I've done college-level Bio) but I have yet to take Chemistry. (I will sometime next year too, but I will have most likely already started the course by then) So, high school level, I'd assume... But by not having a specific Chemistry class as of yet, it's hard to pinpoint exactly how much I should know. But thank you for your answer, Kass!
