App Q: I downloaded the app onto my iPad, but if you don't allow access to all your contacts, the download stops. My Q is why it needs this access? I want to protect my contacts' privacy at all costs.

Assuming you're trying to get an app for this site, the application on the App Store that goes by the same name as this site is actually a completely different thing. It needs your contact info to link your profile to profiles that your contacts have. Good to see you :-)
