Has anyone heard of Lake Vostok and the prehistoric microbes they have found there? What else would be down there to discover?

I've never heard of it before. Thanks to your question, I just found an article on the lake and it made for a fascinating read. It makes me curious as to what else is down there. I look forward to reading more about lake Vostok. Best of luck to you, my friend!

Did the Russians find something in their deep water sampling, or are you talking about the microbes/bacteria found in the ice from the holes? I have never seen reports on what the deep water samples revealed.
