Can someone (preferably a Brit who knows) give me a colloquial or idiomatic British phrase that means 'a bad situation, something that you don't like'. Something equalling 'the situation really sucks!'. Found a slang list but don't know which to use?

Some people say they got into a "sticky situation" which means awkward or uncomfortable.

"Getting into a pickle" means finding yourself in a difficult situation.

Being in "a spot of bother" means being in trouble. Sometimes it an be used to down play how much trouble you're actually in...
