Today, 30 years ago, the challenger shuttle exploded - where were you? Iwas working in austin texas

I was at work in a department store about 75 miles away from the launch. I was in a department that wasn't near the TVs so the news took a few minutes to get to me. I  do know a lot if people who did witness it first.hand. One of them who was a teacher and saw it with her 3rd grade class. Since there was a teacher on the shuttle a big deal had been made of the launch. She spent the rest of the day having to explain what happened to children, many of whom never had to deal with death.
