Sure, for some. It wouldn't have worked for me. I didn't start getting my first facial hair until I was about 17.

I could go two or three days in boot camp whthout having to shave.

Depends on your genes. Don't try beard tricks though it's an awful site with terrible advice, cheap and nasty which is why it is spamming all the beard questions on this site, free advertising, it's got to be cheap and nasty.
