That is probably no longer true. When that calculation was first made, it was assumed that everyone standing there would have a yard between him/herself and their nearest neighbour. The population of the world has almost doubled since then.
It is said that the whole population of the world can fit shoulder to shoulder on the Isle of Wight. How long would it be therefore, considering exponential procreation, before all land mass on earth would be filled by humans shoulder to shoulder?
The formula is: t=a(p/l)
when t = time, p = population, l = land mass, and a = angels on the head of a pin.
Far longer than the earth could sustain even 1/1000th of that horde.
