Are you getting more cynical every year or more optimistic?

Dear Zack,

I almost think there might be another option; as I get older I understand more and more of the tragedy of life, of the world...which can be so harsh... and it's almost that you can just search out the beauty anyway, and put your trust there.

So I don't think I am optimistic, no; but not cynical either.

I'm getting more cynical but in an optimistic way.

I try my best to stay optimistic and I'm hoping that when I take Hunter to the Vet today that they can help him instead of having to put him to sleep. So, yes, at this moment? I'm being very optimistic and hoping for the best! I'm not usually cynical in general and try to look at the bright side of life but lately? It hasn't been too easy.

I can't say either one .. But I am far less gulliable and have learned to not automatically believe everything I hear.  I try to think in logical terms.

I'm much more cynical and bitter than I've ever been. Hopefully, that'll change over the years. Probably won't.

Optimistic

Cynical, more outspoken and direct in an optimistic way. I'm at the point where I now say exactly what I feel when asked or questioned :)

My cynicism maxed out ages ago. I guess I'm rolling easily down the optimistic side, now.

Life is becoming much more fun than I ever would have expected based on the comments I heard from people my current age (71) when I was younger.

It occurs to me that they hadn't figured out as much about reality as they thought they had.

Apparently, I march to the beat of a different drum---onward and upward.

Optimistic I guess---or maybe just The Doctrine of Logical Consequences.

I have always been a realist, and continue to be one.

It seems that every year,

I can hold my breath a little bit longer.
