You should consider three main points when choosing an eyeglass frame for your face shape, according to The Vision Council:

•Eyewear should repeat your personal best feature (such as a blue frame to match blue eyes).
•The frame shape should contrast with your face shape.
•The frame size should be in scale with your face size.

If you can read books with ease but not see distant objects you are likely to need minus glasses.

The type of glasses that will suit you will depend on what type of shape face you have, the style of your haircut and the way your features sit together on your face; or in short what you look like.

Most leading high street opticians now offer a styling range to their customers / patients, enabling customers / patients the opportunity to see how varying styles of frames work against the appearance of the individual.

This is done using a basic computer program, where a photo of the customer / patient is placed on to a monitor, with differing frames super imposed over the image of the face, hopefully allowing you to gain an insight into what style of frame suits your face type.

Traditional opticians would argue they have been using a similar technique for years; by using a mirror!

If you visit your nearest high street optician they should be able to help you out, bear in mind it might be cheaper to actually buy your glasses else where though.
