In the past, when there wasn't any industrial revolution or humans were not as strong as they were, animals and plants became extinct because of natural disasters, such as Volcanic eruptions, floods, drougths and earthquakes bgut as Humans arrived on different parts of the world and the industrial revolution grew strong, all the animals were killed for food and safety and some animal couldn't adapt to the new environment created bu humans activities and Plants usually become excint when people see that a certain plant is rare and special, they pic it up and soon it becomes extinct so Human activities are the reason of extinction of Plants and Animals recently.

An animal or plant becomes extinct when the very last one of the species dies. This happens quite and lot, and is a natural part of the evolutionary process. However, human activity on the planet endangers many other species and some are becoming extinct because of our thoughtlessness, as we destroy their habitats and supplies of food.

Our actions come under the category of changes in the environment as a reason for extinction, but there are several others. Environmental change can occur because of other events, such as fire, flooding, volcanic eruption and so on. Less dramatically, things like weather patterns can change – when the ice ages occurred on Earth millions of years ago, many animals and plants became extinct because they could not withstand the cold conditions.

New diseases can wipe out a species, a predator that becomes very successful can wipe out its prey (with disastrous results for the predator unless it finds a new source of food), and some animals limit their lifestyle so that they can't adapt. Pandas are endangered because they can only live on bamboo shoots – if this is in short supply, they die out.
