What Makes Chewing Gum's Flavor Last?

Because of the chemical make-up well...some of them but like mint flavors and cinnimon flavors have oils. And oils don't dissolve like for example a fruity flavor.

I am doing a science fair on this- which flavor of gum holds its flavor the longest
I have to do a review of literature which is information and what not this is what I have found
when you insert the gum into your mouth it touches your tongue. You can taste the flavor. Since it is on your tongue it is also in your spit. The spit breaks down the flavor molecules and makes the flavor go away.

Double mint gum last the longest from wrigley's brand of gum but I want to know what ingredient makes doublemint gum last longer then others so could somebody please please please help me out like now? I'm doing a science fair project on what brand of bubble gum has the longest lasting flavor.  In order to formulate my hypothesis I'm trying to figure out what makes a gum sweeter or the ingredient in the gum that might make the flavor last longer.  Any ideas?
