No! I am not a doctor, but my older brother had pancreatitis 4 years ago and now over half of it is necrotic (dead) and he is a type 1 diabetic for the rest of his life. It really sucks because you're pancreas produces all your digestive enzymes so you can eat! Binge drinking is what killed it for him.
