The one of the biggest advantage of using primary data sources is the reliability of the data. Data obtained from the primary data sources is very reliable and creates lesser standard deviations or errors in the results. However the biggest disadvantage is that primary data is most expensive to obtain. In certain conditions, primary data sources are avoided and secondary data sources are preferred because of accessibility and cost constraints. The advantage of secondary sources is that they can be easily obtained from websites, articles, archives, published sources etc. The cost of obtaining data from secondary sources is negligible. However disadvantage is the increased chances of distortions and high standard deviations in the case if the data is less reliable.
