The different sorts of information from which data is collected are published and unpublished documents, govt magazines, personal diaries, memories, letters and NGO information. This information is known as meta data and is used to compile statistics and information.
A wide array of information is generally collated together and then the compiler of the statistics takes all this information and brings it together to form a number of statistics and data.
These statistics are used for a number of purposes for a number of different organizations. Statistics are used for everything from building roads to sorting and estimating the amount of money that will be needed for certain projects.
In many cases there will be large departments that are engaged in getting these statistics as their only job involved in companies or in government. The more information a company or a body has and the more accurate this information is will determine the accuracy of their decisions and how close and how informed he decision making they make is.

Statistics are a very costly source of information and many of these companies will offer this information to people and companies at a high price. This is because it allows a lack of wastage, which in turn prevents money being wasted.
