A molecule is a particular configuration of atoms. This can be both a molecular formula, which is quite meaningless compared to a 3d model of the molecule. An atom is made up of electrons, protons, and neutrons, split between an electron cloud and a nucleus.

A molecule is an actual piece of something like steel. While it takes a combination of atoms to make a molecule. Different atoms like carbon and ferrite are in a molecule of steel
